Policy & Economic Impact

Our staff have worked on a range of policy initiatives, from programme monitoring and evaluation to economic impact assessments and policy development.

As our staff have conducted numerous economic impact assessments for the Open Championship, Senior British Open and Women’s British Open, Market Emergence was commissioned by IFM Sports Marketing Surveys to undertake the statistical modelling for the 2010 Ryder Cup at Celtic Manor, presenting our findings to Sport England, Visit Wales and the Ryder Cup, with our findings being incorporated into the final report.

Our staff have been involved in a range of projects with policy implications ranging from assessment of the drivers of foreign direct investment into Khazakhstan prior to Expo Astana 2017, monitoring of the uptake of the Chinese Yuan as a global currency and a feasibility study for the first master-planned mixed-use development project in Palestine geared towards driving economic growth and the creation of a growing middle-class. Similar confidential projects undertaken in other complex emerging markets with far-reaching policy implications. More recently, our staff conducted analysis on the impact of judicial reform on foreign direct investment, which was presented at the Middle East Law Conference in Rabat, Morocco, December 2017, which is also a matter of public record.
